Wow! My time back at school has flown by! I am very proud of our students and the progress they keep making. I have been taking some time to Rigby some of the students in our room. I know that they are constantly making progress and I wanted to see how much. We have a one young man move up 3 guided reading levels!!! Way to go! I have also noticed that there are three students that have reached goals of reading above grade level!!! These are huge gains in just a few months!

I have been working closely with reading teachers to help provide the best reading instruction for our students. Our reading day is now using most of the time for students to read independently while I am working with students in small groups. Students are progressing so much that as soon as I feel like I get a great group together to learn and read, everyone increases their abilities and groups are changing again. But, this is a great sign that students get to practice what they are learning and continue moving forward.

Math is getting harder as we move closer to the end of the year. Our students really need to know their math facts. I have been challenging our class with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math problems for those who are able to handle a few harder problems, which is everyone!!! It's been a great motivation to give our students middle school level algebra problems. I am really proud of them.

If your student hasn't told you about the websites that we are using for presentations and reading response, ask them. www.prezi.com, www.edu.glogster.com, and www.edmodo.com all great amazing pieces of technology.
